Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri shared the video of the ad on social media and criticized the brand for their wrong ‘social activism’. Also called the makers ‘stupid’. It featured Aamir Khan and Kiara Advani as newlyweds on their way home from their wedding in a car. They discuss that none of them cried during the parting before leaving their house. Contrary to the custom of the bride to do so, the groom takes the first step in his new home. Aamir then appears in a bank and says in Hindi, ‘Why keep the tradition going for centuries? Vivek called the makers stupid, Vivek shared the advertisement on Twitter on Monday afternoon and wrote, ‘I fail to understand that since when banks have become responsible for changing social and religious traditions? I think @aubankindia should be proactive by changing the corrupt banking system.’ The ad has been criticized by many for ‘mocking’ Hindu culture and misrepresenting traditions.
