It’s official: Apple set to launch new MacBook Pro with M1X chipset at October 18 event

Apple has sent out invites for the October 18 event, which is likely to see the launch of the MacBook Pro with M1X. The invite doesn’t say much, but the tagline reads, “Unleashed”, hinting at the company’s all-new chipset, which is likely to be the successor to the M1 chip.

Apple is expected to launch all-new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models at the special launch event on October 18. However, the most important thing to look out for will be the M1X processor, which will be the successor to the M1 chip that debuted last year. The new MacBook Pro is likely to feature a mini-LED display and come with an HDMI port as well as an SD card slot. Apple is expected to remove the touch bar and bring back the traditional function keys. The new MacBook Pro models are not likely to see a major design overhaul, but we will have our fingers crossed. Apart from the MacBook Pro, Apple is also likely to announce the macOS Monterey release date. While there aren’t too many hints but Apple may also debut the AirPods 3 at the same event, but we are too optimistic about this one.Greg Joswiak, Apple’s SVP Marketing, has shared a video that further hints about the upcoming MacBook Pro with system speed teased. The October 18 launch event is a Monday, which is not typically Apple’s typical day for launches, but it seems that we are up for a surprise.Unleashed! These next six days are going to speed by. #AppleEvent pic.twitter.com/0ops2bVPvl— Greg Joswiak (@gregjoz) October 12, 2021
To recall, Apple launched the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini with the M1 chip last year in November. The last year’s Mac event was called the “One More Thing” event and was the last keynote event after the Apple Watch and iPad launch in September, followed by the iPhone launch event in October. The M1-based MacBook Air price in India started at Rs 92,900 for the 8-core CPU and 7-core GPU model, while the 512GB model with 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU variant was set at Rs 1,17,900. The 13-inch MacBook Pro price in India started at Rs 1,22,900.
